As with everything in life, it has its good side and its bad side. On the one side the devil urges caution. People/events may seem almost to good to be true but right now err on the side of caution. Similarly you don't have to sell your soul to get what you want. But the devil does have its uses for how can we grow if we don't learn from the past and learn from our mistakes.
