The Dreaming.

The Dreaming was inspired by conversations with the love of my life, I just put them into words for her.

The Dreaming

In a gown of white, beset with pearls, and girdle flecked with gold,
Raven black hair held with jewels, caressed by gentle breeze.
On a lonely shore, the crash of waves, she walks bare foot upon the sand,
Her gaze upon the darkening night, dreams flying to the stars.
Under pale moonlight, filled with sadness, a tear rolls down her cheek,
Longing for her heart's desire, her voice lifts up in song.
A song of love, pain and loss, the taste of salt upon her lips,
With open arms she greets the dawn, surrenders to its warm embrace.

She walks the forest, still and dark, under canopy of leaves,
Dew fresh grass beneath her feet, lit by shafts of gold.
A flash of colours, on Raven's wing, shine iridescent in the sun,
A cloud of butterflies in her wake, resplendant in their many hue's.
Blankets of flowers, pure and white, scented blossom upon the air,
Enraptured by the sights and sounds, she lets her thoughts run free.
No stone walls, to bind and keep, no vows to hold or duty meet,
The ancient spirits are all she sees, her soul released from waking world.

By flowing stream, pure and cold, in hidden leafy glen,
Beneath a sparkling waterfall, touches lovingly her pure white skin.
Myriad tiny droplets form, dazzle and glitter, fall splashing to the ground,
Her body mirrored in rippled pool, she stands before the sun.
On waters edge, behold dragonflies, at rest upon the reeds,
The soothing calm of babbling brook, carries all her fears away.
A rainbow of her mind, arcs across the sky, summoned by her calling,
She wakes again upon the sand, beside the moonlit sea.
