Summers Thought is about the change of seasons and the Goddesses effects upon the land and how winter suddenly blooms into spring and nature comes alive once more.

Summers Thought

Cracking ice, like the sound of hail,
Echoes across the still, empty vale.
Silver moon, reflects in mirrored stream,
A fleeting vision, in a maiden's dream.
A moorhen shrieks, in dark of night,
And sorrowful calls, of geese in flight.

A snowdrop appears, its petals pure and white,
Amid crisp snow, it defies winter's might.
An Eastern wind, blows through the trees,
Brings scents of spring, upon the breeze.
Thistle and trees, blossom and bud,
Nature comes alive, in forest and wood.

Stars mark the passing, like heavenly jewels,
A processional dance, that brings forth renewals.
In spring meadows, the lady's passing seen,
Her loving hand, covers land in verdant green.
Golden tresses flying, her lover's arms she sought,
Chasing like butterflies, this summer's thought..
