Sadness, bring a black despair,
That fills your life, your world,
Happiness avoids you, like a fleeting dream,
And love seems a fickle thing,
Elusive like your very thoughts.

Love picks you up when you are down,
Changes your life and world,
Only to drop you, like a discarded glove,
And sadness finds you again,
Greets you like an old friend.

Love, brings joy to the heart
Such happiness, completes your life,
Warms the soul, like the summer sun
And sadness seems a distant thing,
Forgotten like an unwanted dream.

Sadness, it never forgets,
Knows your secrets, your fears,
It haunts you, like a dark shadow,
And waits in the deep silence,
Overlooked like an unnecessary truth.
