Perseid Meteor Shower 2011

Perseid Meteor Shower 2011: The Perseids are a meteor shower associated with the comet Swift-Tuttle.

The Perseids are so-called because the point they appear to come from, called the radiant, lies in the constellation Perseus.  The shower is visible from mid-July each year, with the peak in activity being between August 9 and 14.  The peak hourly rate for 2011 occurs in the early hours of the morning on Saturday13th August, although meteors will still be visible until 22 August.
