100 Days of Nature Part 2

100 Days of Nature

The 100 Days of Nature is a photo project challenge from the BBC Springwatch team. The idea behind the project was to take one photograph a day for 100 days. 100 days, 100 moments of nature, 100 photos.

100 Days of Nature Part 2

100 Days of Natue, 100 Viewa, 100 Photographs

How hard can it be??? I've liked this challenge, 100 photos, one every day - doesn't sound so hard.... Finding 100 unique views of nature, sounds easy... and there have been days when I was spoilt for choice. But then there's the days when it's been raining - which fortunately have been very rare this summer. In fact I can't remember a summer when we got so much nice weather for months on end in the last 40 years..

Most of the photo's have been taken within 10 miles of where I lived, mostly because it's easy to get there, but mostly because you don't need to go very far to find all sorts of different aspects of nature.

I wanted 100 photos of 100 different things - and apart from the 2 Dragonflies earlier this year - I have managed it so far, it has been hard and I've really had to look for the shots I wanted. Yet they are all there, if you take the time to look. It did get harder towards the end of October, all the local parks removed this years flowers from the flower beds; trees were losing their leaves and the wildflowers had gone to seed or died off.

I've tried to experiment a bit more with close-ups and macro shots of things you probably just walk by - mostly they've been flower or plant shots - after all they don't move about to much (unless you count the Triffids - which are fiction).

I've found it a great spiritul connection, to be out there looking, smelling, and experiencing nature in all it's glory. I can't think of a better way to connect with the Earth, nature and the seasons than to be out there, every single day - even if it's just 20 minutes.

Anyway I hope you enjoy the photographs as much as I've enjoyed creating them.
