Tawhirimatea - God of weather, thunder, lightning, rain, wind and storms
Tawhirimatea (Tawhiri) Maori God of weather, thunder, lightning, rain, wind and storms. He is a son of Papatuanuku (earth mother) and Ranginui (sky father). He was one of the gods who opposed the separation of his parents. He sent forth clouds, winds and storms as part of his war against his brother. He is father of the four winds, Tuaraki (North), Tonga (South), Marangai (East) and Hauauru (West).
