Chicomecoatl - Goddess of agriculture.
Chicomecoatl ("seven snakes") is a Goddess of agriculture, nourishment, plenty and the female aspect of corn. She is depicted with her body and face painted red, wearing a rectangular headdress. The number seven was associated with luck and generative power.
Ritual Sacrifice
Every harvest season, a young girl representing Chicomecoatl would be ritually sacrificed. She would be decapitated and her blood poured over a statue of Chicomecoatl. Her skin was worn by a priest of Chicomecoatl.
