Atargatis - Goddess of Fertility.

Atargatis (Ataratheh) is a Goddess of Fertility and the patron goddess of northern Syria. She also responsible for the protection of her city and the well being of the people. She was known to the Greeks as Aphrodite Derceto and to the Romans as Dea Syriae. Doves and fish were sacred to her. Her main sanctuary was at Hierapolis, Syria, which included a pond with sacred fish. She was often depicted as a fish-bodied mermaid.
